This special Patio Raspberry Plant makes growing your own delicious raspberries wonderfully easy, even if you only have a patio or small garden. Unlike traditional raspberry plants that can become large, thorny and difficult to manage, this compact variety grows to around 90cm tall and wide, with a completely thornless habit and no need for staking.
Pretty white flowers appear in June, attracting pollinating insects before giving way to the first sweet red raspberries from around mid-July. And rather than producing one quick crop, it keeps the fruit coming for weeks, with a harvest that can continue into autumn, giving you up to ten weeks of delicious home-grown raspberries to pick straight from the plant.
It is just as easy to look after as it is to pick. Grow it in a 30-40cm container on a sunny patio or plant it in a well-drained border, then simply cut the whole plant back to around 15cm in winter. It will return the following summer and continue cropping for many years, making it a great choice for anyone who wants to grow fresh fruit without the fuss of traditional raspberry plants.
