Fritillaria meleagris, also known as the snakeโs head fritillary, is a beautiful and unusual spring bulb with distinctive chequered flowers in shades of deep purple and white. Its dainty, bell-shaped blooms nod gracefully above slender stems and naturalise well in damp, grassy areas or light shade. An award-winning favourite in wildflower meadows and woodland borders, itโs also adored by early pollinators.
