Aster dumosus ‘Alpha Light Pink’ is a lovely compact Michaelmas Daisy, producing masses of soft light pink, daisy-like flowers above neat mid-green foliage. Its naturally bushy habit keeps the plant looking tidy while the abundance of blooms creates a cheerful splash of colour in the garden.

Flowering from late summer into autumn, it’s perfect for extending colour later in the year, just when many summer perennials are starting to fade. The simple daisy flowers provide a valuable source of nectar for bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, making this a pretty addition to wildlife-friendly planting too.

At around 50cm tall and wide, ‘Alpha Light Pink’ is small enough for the front of borders, rockeries and alpine-style planting, as well as patio containers. It is also a good choice for coastal gardens and informal cottage-style planting.

Easy to grow and fully hardy, it prefers full sun and fertile, moist but well-drained soil. The foliage dies back naturally in autumn before returning the following spring, and cutting the stems down after flowering keeps the plant neat and ready for another display the following year.
