Birds love eating peanut butter and this superfood does them the power of good. All the oils and proteins of peanuts, but much easier to eat and without the high levels of salt found in normal peanut butter, which can be dangerous for birds.
My special recipe Peanut Butter Bird Food is a high energy, no added salt* peanut butter full of nutritious, nutty, energy packed goodness. In my tests, garden birds much preferred my peanut butter bird food to other (more expensive) brands of bird peanut butter and the birds flocked to eat from our jars, leaving the other butter virtually untouched.
This peanut butter is a superb source of protein, oils and vitamins. It’s easily digestible, so is ideal for adult birds as well as fledglings and it’s particularly loved by a wide variety of smaller birds such as blue tits, nuthatches, woodpeckers and robins, so is good for attracting a wide range of birds to your garden.
The jars can be placed on a bird table, or the butter can be smeared onto the trunk of a tree for woodpeckers, nuthatches and similar birds to enjoy. Or in a peanut butter feeder which can be hung from a tree or mounted to a wall or fence. Simply screw the jar securely into the feeder, and the birds are protected from the elements as they feed.
*Ordinary peanut butter has far too much salt and can be dangerous for birds. This special recipe doesn’t contain any added salt, only naturally occurring. No salt recipe contains no more than 2mg of naturally occurring salt per 100g.
