Solitary, non-swarming bees are fascinating and delightful insects and are regular visitors to our gardens. But they need our help to provide them with suitable nesting sites.
The award winning Bee Brick Bee House has been specifically designed for this use and is a simple way to do something to help our declining bee populations. The bees will lay their eggs within the moulded cavities.
Created to look lovely just stood on their own, in your garden, the Bee Brick Bee House can also be used in place of a standard brick in construction, creating more habitats for non-swarming solitary bees. It provides a stylish nesting site for red mason and leafcutter bees, among others, and makes a real design statement in any bee-friendly garden, allotment, or building.
Solitary bees are non-aggressive and won’t sting.
Made in England, the bricks are cast in concrete using 75% waste material from the Cornish china clay industry.
The Bee Brick Bee House should be positioned in a warm, sunny, south-facing spot, with no vegetation in front, and ideally at least one metre from the ground.
It comes beautifully packaged and would make an ideal gift for anyone interested in garden wildlife.
Size 21.5×10.5×6.5cm (8½x4x2½in).
