The decline in many natural habitats means our gardens are more important than ever for keeping wildlife safe. This twool cosy nesting wool for garden, and any other, birds is made from 100% British wool from Dartmoor sheep. It is super sustainable, being a by-product from the manufacture of woollen twine. It is also perfect when used as bedding for hedgehogs and hoglets.
Wool is a fantastic nesting materiel, and birds collect this fibre in the wild wherever sheep graze. As well as being a cosy liner, it is highly practical since it doesn’t retain water in the nest. It will fully biodegrade in time.
Simply hang the box close to, or on, your garden feeding stations, or a tree close to where you feed the birds. You can also dispense the wool into a fat ball holder or any empty bird feeder.
For hedgehogs, place a little in your hedgehog house, plus some more nearby. Hedgehogs, like birds, prefer to make their own nest, so will find the stash of lovely soft, cosy wool and drag it into the house.
