As cutting long, tall and awkward hedges can be tiring, you want a hedge trimmer that makes trimming and cutting back as pleasurable as possible. Battery-powered hedge trimmers are lighter than petrol models, and unlike electric hedge trimmers, do away with the constant worry of cutting through the electric cable.
The Webb 50cm Lithium-ion Long Reach Battery Hedge Trimmer is equipped with 50cm (20in) long double-sided blades, meaning you can cut on the upstroke as well as the downstroke, substantially reducing cutting time. It is a fast, fuss-free way to keep your hedges in trim. It will cut stems up to 16mm in diameter.
The telescopic shaft extends from 1.96-2.56m (77-101in) allowing you to tackle tall hedges from the safety of the ground, without having to balance on a stepladder. The pivoting cutting head has four possible positions (from 90° to -45°), allowing you to trim at different angles and to tackle the top of the hedge.
It is lightweight and well balanced, ensuring ease of use, and comes complete with a 2Ah battery, which provides 45 minutes of use time, and charger.
Rechargeable battery-powered tools offer numerous advantages. Like mains electric, they’re light and easy to manoeuvre, but you don’t have the drawback of the trailing electric cable. Their motors don’t need any maintenance nor produce any emissions.
Amp hour (Ah) is analogous to the size of a car’s fuel tank; the larger the amp hours, the longer the battery will last between charging.

It goes without saying that a garden with a hedge needs a hedge trimmer.
Now there are many ways to keep on top of an established hedge, some more successful than others.
You could expend hours of effort and energy using a set of hand shears, and whilst I’m all for a good workout the fun can soon get boring over the course of the summer months with some hedge/shrubs growing upwards of 5cm per day!
You could always pay someone to do this job for you? An easy option indeed but the cost of this could soon mount up over the spring and summer months with routine visits required in order to keep your hedges and shrubs looking their best!
Or I suppose as a last resort you could always move home?
