Product Description

- Comfortable Y-grip handle
- Smaller and lighter than a digging spade
- Comfortable treads
Everyone needs a good quality spade in the garden – and our RHS-endorsed Border Spade is certainly one of the best. It is slightly smaller than our Digging Spade, making it ideal for digging in confined spaces, and for gardeners who prefer to work with a shorter, lighter-weight tool.
It has a large, relative to its size, mirror-polished stainless steel blade for efficient digging, rust resistance and clean, easy movement through the soil. Wide comfort treads at the top of the blade prevent any discomfort for feet, allowing you to dig deep in even the most challenging soil. The hardwood shaft and handle are made from FSC-certified ash wood, renowned as the best wood for garden tools. The shaft is longer than most spades to reduce stooping and so save your back from aches and pains and the comfortable Y-grip handle is double riveted at the base for strength. An extra-long, double-riveted strapped socket provides strength and an element of flex at this key joint. The Border Spade has been tested to a breaking strain of 90kg – far beyond the British Standard of 55kg.
Overall length 98cm (39in)
Blade size 23cm (9in) long, 14cm (5½in) wide
Weight 1.67kg (3½lb)
