With the current concerns over the build-up of plastics in the environment, many gardeners are looking for replacements for plastic plant saucers. These bamboo saucers are the perfect alternative.
They are made from sustainable bamboo fibre and rice starch, firmly held together with a resin made from naturally occurring organic compounds. This material is free from petroleum-based plastics and BPA (bisphenol A), a chemical that is used to make certain plastics and resins, and found in polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. The plant saucers come in a lovely sage green colour, are durable and will last for at least five years or more, and can be used indoors and outside. They are the perfect addition to the 3″ Bamboo Pots. After their useful life is over, they are compostable and will biodegrade. Composting usually takes six to 12 months. Breaking them into small pieces before adding to your compost heap will help speed up this composting process.
