My all-time favourite gardening gloves!
Over the years, I’ve used many different gloves for gardening and DIY. Some are uncomfortable and get hot and clammy as you wear them, some are made of such thick material that you can’t feel what you’re touching, while others once wet, then dry out, go as stiff and virtually unusable. A couple of years ago, a gardening friend of mine (Clare Cooke, who was the Blue Peter Gardener for many years) sent me these gloves, just to try. She told me that, dissatisfied with other gloves, she had taken the plunge and designed her own gloves, to combine the protection and durability of proper working gloves with the fit and flexibility of the very best gardening gloves. I tried them, loved them, and have used them ever since. Quite simply, these are the best gardening gloves I’ve ever used.
I love them because:
• They’re light to wear, so very comfortable and easy to wear, and are also extremely durable and flexible.
• They’re padded, so tough enough to protect against brambles etc, but sufficiently dexterous that you can feel through them.
• They’re breathable, so hands don’t sweat.
• And they’re machine washable too (really useful that!).
Clare, who designed these gloves, now runs a donkey sanctuary, hence the name Donkey gloves!
Sizes: These gloves are unisex. To work out your size, measure around your hand in inches above where the thumb meets the palm e.g. 9 inches = size 9.
