Autumn King is a classic carrot that has stood the tests of time. As its name implies, it produces a fantastic crop for harvesting in autumn and into winter. The long, tapering carrots can measure up to 30cm (12in) in length and are bright orange with a red core, so look attractive on the plate. They can be left in the ground without fear of splitting or can be lifted and stored indoors over winter. Sow from March to July to harvest from August to December.
