Why we chose it: RHS AGM winner
- Mild, tasty green and white shoots
- Quick and easy
- Can be sown almost all year round
- Each packet contains approx. 800 seeds
Many spring onion varieties have been launched since White Lisbon made its debut in 1787, but this heirloom variety is still the most popular among gardeners. It is an incredibly hardy and tough variety, producing a quick and easy crop. Seeds can be sown virtually all year round to provide long, slender white stems with green tops throughout the year. The crisp, succulent shoots have a moreish, mild flavour. The main sowing time is from March to September to harvest from April to October.
