Trollius, or globeflowers, are reliable hardy herbaceous perennials that prefer reasonably moist soil or even planting in bog gardens or at the margins of ponds or other water features.
Trollius Golden Queen bears cheery, buttercup-like, bowl-shaped flowers that are a striking brilliant golden yellow, and have gorgeous, flame-like narrow central petals. The flowers of this repeat blooming variety are produced from mid spring into summer. The strong stems are great for cutting if you fancy using the flowers in floral arrangements. The flowers are set off by attractive, deeply-toothed mid-green foliage. Golden Queen is excellent for attracting bees and other pollinators, as it has nectar- and pollen-rich flowers.
