Imagine popping out into your garden and picking the freshest, tastiest strawberries you’ve ever eaten. Well, it’s possible and it’s easy to grow your own strawberries at home. There are lots of different strawberry varieties available, and we’ve chosen some of the best.
Strawberry Malwina is one of the best late season varieties producing large, dark red, glossy berries in July and even into August/early September. They have a lovely aroma, exceptionally high Brix reading (sugar content) and a really excellent flavour. It’s very popular with PYO farms.
You will receive cold-stored runners (young plants). These have been fooled into thinking they’ve had the spell of cold weather necessary to initiate flowering and can start fruiting 60 days after planting. This summer you could crop up to 100g per plant, next summer you could get up to 500g or more per plant! For bumper crops, we highly recommend feeding them with my high potash Flower Power Plant Food.
