If you’re looking for a really easy plant for spectacular colour, grow these. Incredibly versatile, they can be grown in pots, baskets or borders, where they’ll delight you with colour throughout summer and well into autumn. One of the highlights of my garden last year and much admired by everyone who saw them.
Bidens are slightly tender plants, usually grown as annuals, but will survive mild winters, or you can overwinter them in a greenhouse. They flower all summer long and well into autumn, providing months of colour. Grow them in the ground in beds or borders or in containers. They’ll gently tumble over the edges of containers, softening their edges, or spill down the sides of hanging baskets, creating a colourful floral waterfall. Prefers full sun, but will thrive in partial or light shade.
You’ll receive two plants each of the following fabulous varieties.
Rockstar, with huge – almost twice the size of typical bidens – canary yellow flowers and lush green foliage.
Spicy Ice, an improved white variety with brilliant flower power, producing masses of pure white flowers with golden centres.
Spicy Margarita, a hot, fiery orange, to almost red, with a distinct yellow halo around the central eye.
