My Flower Power Premium Peat-Free Compost is a brilliant new peat-free version of my popular Premium Multi-Purpose Compost. After extensive tests, we have developed a blend similar to those tried, trusted and used by professional plant growers.
This top quality compost encourages strong root growth, better water retention and it helps grow stronger, healthier plants.
Peat Free Compost with a Difference
Some peat-free recipes only contain one peat substitute, whereas this special compost contains four different peat substitutes, each with its own individual special purpose! It includes wood fibre for strong root growth, coir (a bi-product of the coconut industry) for structure, natural rich green substrate, as well as clay for natural water and nutrient absorption.
The beauty of this compost is that you don’t have to change the way you care for your plants (as you do with many other peat free composts). It feels like, and you use it like, the traditional peat based composts that we’ve all relied on over the years.
- Four different peat substitutes, each with its own purpose
- Enriched with Flower Power nutrients
- Also contains Root Booster, Seaweed Extract and Wetting Agent
- Grows brilliant plants
The special peat-free recipe has been enriched with my famous Flower Power nutrients to help nurture your plants through the crucial first few weeks of their growth, as well as my Root Booster’s special humates (from plant organic matter) to improve nutrient uptake. It also includes a generous application of Wetting Agent to provide even better moisture control and help reduce drying out, as well as Seaweed Extract to stimulate natural plant growth.
This compost is ideal for everything from potting up and growing on young plants to planting up containers. This 40 litre bag will fill 20 2 litre (17cm) pots.
If you’re looking for compost for ericaceous plants that prefer lime-free, acidic soil, be sure to check out my Premium Ericaceous Compost, too. It’s also enriched with Flower Power nutrients to boost healthy plant growth.

Disappointing. Started off all my vegetables in this compost but the roots didn’t grow. I usually have a good crop of beans, tomatoes and potatoes but not this year. They were watered regularly so not due to the dry weather.

I have tried other peat free compost and Flower Power is the best. I have used it for household plants, vegetables and outdoor plants. Even put a dying pepper plant in flower power compost and it perked up overnight! I would highly recommend this.

This compost is no match to earlier years where I have bought RJ’s products, via QVC . It dries out and just looks like you have put your plants in straw. Not happy at all after years of buying Richard Jackson’s products and neither are the plants
