Aphids, greenfly and blackfly and a host of other colours, attack a huge range of garden and indoor plants. They suck the plant’s sap, weakening the plant and often spread plant viruses. They excrete honeydew, a sugary substance, which is often colonised by sooty mould fungus, spoiling the look of plants.
Most people probably know that ladybirds eat aphids and will actively search them out on plants to feed on them. What isn’t so widely known is that the unusual-looking ladybird larvae are far more voracious than the adult beetles and are better at clearing away an aphid infestation.
These Organic Aphid Control Ladybird Larvae contain enough ladybird larvae to control aphids over an area of 20sq m (24sq yd) outdoors or under glass. They come with a release bag that can be hung on affected plants.
