Why we chose it: RHS AGM winner
- Crisp texture with a sweet taste
- Fast growing
- A staple of summer salads
- Each packet contains approx. 1,400 seeds
Little Gem lettuce has been grown by gardeners since its launch in 1938, when it was originally known as Sugar Cos. It is one of the best-selling lettuces in supermarkets, but it is really easy to grow at home in gardens, on allotments or, thanks to its compact size, in pots and other containers. Forming small, tight hearts that are sweet with a great texture, Little Gem provides harvests from late spring into autumn, depending on sowing time. Sow from mid-March to July to harvest from May to October.
