New website for Richard Jackson

Welcome to my new website. Gardeners love sharing tips and ideas, and I hope my website will help and inspire everyone, especially new gardeners, to make more of their outdoor space.

Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work with some amazing gardeners and, over the coming months, I’m delighted that many of them will be writing about their favourite gardening topics.

For our launch, editor-in-chief Jean Vernon advises on the bumblebees with her special rescue remedy and explains (much to my pleasure) how important it is to relax in your garden with a cuppa!

Gardeners are always learning from each other and in Vicki Cooke’s delightfully titled ‘Give peas a chance‘ feature, I discovered (and now want to grow) some very special varieties of tasty long cropping heritage peas tested at The Royal Kitchen Garden at Hampton Court Palace.

Talking of flavour, James Wong (the Jamie Oliver of gardening) has trialed and selected the tastiest and most nutritious fruit and veg for his new book which is featured by the garden trade’s leading journalist, Matthew Appleby. Matt also explain why, for the first time in 30 years, Alan Titchmarsh won’t have an official role at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.

When it comes to picking the best plants to grow, multi-award winning Graham Rice is the man. So I’m thrilled that Graham will be contributing regular articles beginning with his top five hardy perennials.

To help keep the kids busy over the Easter holidays, top garden designer Clare Matthews has some great ideas for getting them outside, decorating pots. That’s enough to build up anyone’s appetite, so I’m especially pleased that we’ve linked up with Delicious, the UK’s leading food magazine, to choose some mouthwatering recipes featuring fresh ingredients from the garden. We’ll be adding more recipes every month so do keep looking.

We really hope you enjoy browsing through the features and also picking up extra tips from our two-minute gardener videos. Like any new venture, we’ll gradually learn what everyone likes most so we’d appreciate any suggestions as to how we can make it better.

Happy browsing and happy gardening!
