Strawberries are easy peasy fruiting plants to grow. Great for pots and planters, ideal to get the kids interested in gardening and they will get better and better once they are established.

Imagine popping out into your garden and picking the freshest, tastiest strawberries you’ve ever eaten. Well, it’s possible and it’s easy to grow your own strawberries at home. Growing your own strawberries at home is the best way to get the freshest, juiciest and best tasting, delicious fruit.

There are lots of different strawberry varieties available, and we’ve chosen some of the best.

Vibrant early season Strawberry

Strawberry Vibrant is a brilliant early season variety, producing a heavy crop and is one of the best easy fruit to grow.

Delicious Strawberries – Early Fruiting

Strawberry Vibrant produces beautifully shaped, conical, uniform red berries. It is an early cropping variety, producing fruit in early to mid-June. It is heavy cropping, producing a large number of trusses with four or five fruit on each truss.

You will receive cold-stored runners (young plants). These have been fooled into thinking they’ve had the spell of cold weather necessary to initiate flowering and will fruit 60 days after planting.

Late season Malwina

Strawberry Malwina is a delicious late season variety, producing large, dark red, glossy berries with a fabulous taste and is a really easy fruit to grow.

Delicious Strawberries – Late Summer Fruiting

Strawberry Malwina is one of the best late season varieties producing large, dark red, glossy berries in July and even into August/early September. They have a lovely aroma, exceptionally high Brix reading (sugar content) and a really excellent flavour. It’s very popular with PYO farms. 

You will receive cold-stored runners (young plants). These have been fooled into thinking they’ve had the spell of cold weather necessary to initiate flowering and will fruit 60 days after planting.

Strawberry Malling Champion is an everbearing variety that produces its peak crop in July.

Champion Strawberry For Pots

Strawberry Malling Champion is an everbearing variety, which means it produces fruit for the entire growing season, beginning in early summer with crops throughout summer and into autumn. It reaches its peak cropping in July. Each plant can produce up to 1kg of bright red, classic cone-shaped fruit a year.

You will receive cold-stored runners (young plants). These have been fooled into thinking they’ve had the spell of cold weather necessary to initiate flowering and will fruit 60 days after planting.

Early season raspberry Glen Carron

Raspberry Glen Carron is an early fruiting variety with large crops of delightful, sweet fruit.

Early Season Raspberry Glen Carron

With raspberry Glen Carron it’s all about the flavour, as this variety always performs well in blind taste tests. It is an early to mid-season variety, cropping for at least four weeks from June and into July. The bright red, traditionally shaped conical berries are very sweet with a low level of acidity. It’s a delightful, ‘must grow’ raspberry. Fruit is easy to pick and lasts well after picking.

Raspberry Enrosadira produces large, attractive, bright red berries with an outstanding, aromatic flavour. They have a good firmness and last well once picked. It is a very versatile variety and can be grown to produce a large later summer/early autumn crop or smaller crops throughout summer until the first frosts. Fruit is easy to pick and keeps well after picking.
